Congressman Eric Swalwell Endorses Joanna Weiss for California’s 47th Congressional District

Swalwell marks the third member of the California congressional delegation to join Weiss’s broad coalition of support this week alone

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Today, Congressman Eric Swalwell (CA-14) announced he is endorsing Joanna Weiss to represent California’s 47th congressional district.

“I’m thrilled to endorse Joanna Weiss for Congress. She knows how to win tough races in Orange County, and she’s the one in this race who can beat back Republican extremism next November,” said Swalwell. “Reproductive rights and our very democracy are on the ballot next year, and Joanna is a true champion of both those issues. I look forward to working with her in Congress to build consensus and get to work for working families across California and this country.”

“Congressman Swalwell has shown such leadership in the House, especially on gun safety reform and democracy issues,” said Joanna Weiss. “I am so grateful for his support in this race, and I cannot wait to get to work alongside him to help working families, protect our democracy, and address the climate crisis. There is so much on the line next November, and I’m honored to have Rep. Swalwell with me in this fight.”

Rep. Swalwell is the third member of the California delegation to endorse Weiss in the past week, following Reps. Sydney Kamlager-Dove and Julia Brownley, demonstrating growing support for her from the Democratic congressional members in state. Rep. Swalwell also joins Congresswoman Linda Sánchez, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, dozens of other women and local leaders, EMILYs List, Elect Democratic Women PAC, and Women’s Political Committee, who have announced their enthusiastic endorsement of Weiss.
