Weiss Raises Another $400k in the Q3, Surpassing $1 million Raised from Individual Contributions
ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Congressional candidate Joanna Weiss reported yet another robust fundraising quarter, raising over $400,000, for a total of $1.23 million raised in her campaign for California’s 47th district. According to a recent FEC press release, Weiss is the highest grossing woman candidate in the country for the 2024 cycle (9/29/23 FEC report, woman candidates in an open seat or as a challenger). These announcements come on the heels of numerous Congressional endorsements, winning two Democratic Club straw poll votes, and gaining California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis’ endorsement.
“I am running for Congress to build a better future for our families and kids. I am thankful for the thousands of supporters standing with me in this fight,” said Joanna Weiss. “Together, we will protect our coastline, strengthen Social Security, and stop Scott Baugh and his Republican cronies from taking away our reproductive freedom.”
Weiss is not accepting any corporate PAC money and is running a grassroots campaign fueled by individuals to become the next Congresswoman for California’s 47th congressional district. Unlike her opponents, Joanna has never accepted money from the oil or pharmaceutical industries.
Since launching her campaign, Weiss has earned support from California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakisand Congressmembers Eric Swalwell, Linda Sánchez, Sydney Kamlager-Dove, and Julia Brownleyk, demonstrating growing support for her from the Democratic congressional members in state. Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, Anaheim Mayor Ashleigh Aitken, dozens of other women and local leaders, Moms Fed Up, EMILYs List, Elect Democratic Women PAC, Women’s Political Committee, OC Action, and labor, all have announced their enthusiastic endorsement of Weiss.
